    *Please note: our English proficiency requirements are different than the university's requirements. Before we will process an application or schedule an audition, all graduate applicants whose native language is not English, whether or not they have earned degrees at English-language institutions, must submit a TOEFL score that meets all of the following requirements:
    • All graduate applicants must submit scores equal to or exceeding the following:
      • Reading: 26
      • Listening: 24
      • Speaking: 22
    • Students applying for MA or MM degrees must submit an overall score of 92 or higher.
    • Students applying for Ph.D. or DMA degrees (including those who have earned their master’s degree here at the University of Maryland) must submit an overall score of 100 or higher.
