Summer Programs at the UMD School of Music

UMD Terrapin Music Camp
Band: July 19 - July 24, 2020
Choir/Orchestra: July 26 - 31, 2020

Day camps for band, string and vocal musicians entering grades 5-10, culminating in public concerts of all participants.

 

UMD Summer Chorus
There will be no UMD Summer Chorus in 2020. Please check back for 2021 dates. 
A campus/community chorus open to anyone in high school, college or beyond who wants to sing.

 

Clarinet Academy of America
July 6 - 10, 2020

The Clarinet Academy of America is 5-day summer program presented by the clarinet professors at The University of Maryland and The University of Georgia, Robert DiLutis and D. Ray McClellan, respectively. Hosted annually by both university campuses on a rotating basis, the CAA offers a host of trainings, masterclasses, performances, private lessons and chamber music coachings. 

 

FAME Music Technology Workshop

Launched in 2011, this workshop gives students entering grades 7 through 12 the opportunity to explore cutting-edge recording software, experiment with music composition, and learn about and prepare for education and career opportunities in music. Bring your instrument and learn how to incorporate it into your own recording session. Each workshops culminates with a performance/showcase of the students' creative projects open to family members and the public.

 

FAME Vocal Music Workshop

Students will learn many techniques, strengthen and build their vocal capacity, perform sight-reading/sight-singing exercises, collaborate with program participants and/or work independently to create an archival recording of an original composition or cover an existing work(s). Each workshop culminates with a performance/showcase of the students' creative projects open to family members and the public.
