MUED 698M: COMPREHENSIVE MUSICIANSHIP THROUGH PERFORMANCE
INSTRUCTOR: STEPHANIE PRICHARD

This course includes the history, theory, and practice of the Comprehensive Musicianship through Performance (CMP) model. Explore this learner-centered approach to large ensemble rehearsal through a variety of practical course content.

 

MUED 698V: VOCAL PEDAGOGY FOR THE CHORAL CONDUCTOR
INSTRUCTOR: KENNETH ELPUS

Section WB21 | Entirely online!

Learn the anatomy of speech and voice and how to apply this knowledge to teaching singing in choral classrooms. Improve rehearsal efficiency and help improve the sound of your elementary, middle, or high school choir. Course is taught online, asynchronously. Watch weekly videos and discuss course content with your colleagues and professor in online discussion boards.

 

Registering for Summer Term at UMD

1.       Apply!

If you’re not currently a student at UMD, not already accepted into our master’s program for next fall, or not already in the process of applying for our master’s program for next fall, you’ll need to “Apply” for Summer Term. This is a “term-only” application that allows you to register for our courses and receive graduate credit.

Visit the Office of Extended Sudies website to find the printable Graduate Paper application form for Summer Term. It is available for download as a PDF. (Sorry, the online application option is only for undergraduate students.)

2.       Register!

Once your application has been accepted, you’ll be given a university username (called a Directory ID) and a password. You’ll use these credentials to register for your class online:

A. Visit https://my.umd.edu/

B. Login with your Directory ID and password

C. Click on “Academics & Testudo”

D. Under “Registration Time & Blocks,” select Summer 2017 as the registration term

E. Click on “Take Me to Registration Drop/Add”

F. Type the course and section number(s) into the Drop/Add table and hit Enter

  • Vocal Pedagogy for the Choral Conductor is MUED698V, Section WB21
  • Comprehensive Musicianship through Performance is MUED 698M, Section HY51

G. Click “Sign Off”

H. Complete payment information – you’ll need to submit payment when you register.
