"Scattered Footprints" is the middle movement of three. Within the fast 6/8 tempo, different beats are accented to reveal rhythmic patterns that work against the dotted quarter pulse (i.e., groups of 8 divided into 5 plus 3 in the very beginning). Throughout the work, a variety of string timbres and colors are explored.
