Throughout the work, a variety of string timbres and colors are explored.

Title: I Remember Monkey Train Track Shoes (excerpt)
Medium: mixed ensemble
Description: "I Remember Monkey Train Track Shoes" is from a song cycle called Our Man Jenga which I wrote in the summer of 2007. It tells the story of Bob Jenga, the fictional creator of the non-fictional "edge-of-your-seat-fun" game Jenga, who is obsessed with precision crafted blocks of wood. All of the music is written for the same ensemble consisting of alto saxophone, tenor saxophone, violin, cello, electric guitar, electric bass, drum set, and female voice. The work lasts approximately one hour with no breaks in the music.
Recorded: studio recording, July 2007

Composer: Alec Summers
Title: Poem In October
Medium: Chamber Ensemble
Description: Poem in October is a poem by the welsh poet Dylan Thomas. In it, the poet walks through his hometown shifting between the present and the past as his surroundings awaken memories. Musically, these themes: nostalgia, introspection, and the passing of time are heard as the instruments work with and against the singer immersing him, shaping him, and at times, colliding with him.
Performers: IonSound Project

Duration: approx. 2 minutes
