Pre-Screen Recording Requirements
Pre-screen recordings are required for all Flute and Trumpet applicants:
Repertoire requirement: Please submit an audio recording of 5-10 minutes that is representative of your ability. The musical selections do not necessarily need to come from the audition requirements.
The required method for submitting your pre-screen recording for flute and trumpet is through our ArtsApp portal, at www.artsapp.com/umdmusic. You will need to register at ArtsApp, and submit your audition materials by November 1 for undergraduate applicants. Notification will be sent by December 24.
ArtsApp accepts the following format types:
- Audio (.mp3, .mp4, .m4a)
- Video (.asf, .avi, .flv, .mov, .m4v, .mp4, .mpg, .mvb, .swf, .wmv)
- Images (.bmp, .gif, .jpg, .jpeg, .png, .tiff
- Documents (.doc, .pdf, .xls)
Total portfolio size needs to be under 6 GB, with a maximum file size of 1.2 GB. Please upload each piece as its own file.
When uploading video, please use a broadband connection (plugin your computer, not just wifi) for a faster upload. We will receive your files the day that you submit them, and you will receive verification of your submission. For technical support with your ArtsApp submission, please contact [support] at [artsapp] dot com.
