Orchestral Performance at NOI

Rehearsing and performing with the National Festival Orchestral is a central component of your time while at the National Orchestral Institute and Festival. During the first week of the program, members are assigned to a chamber orchestra where they will rehearse and perform without a conductor. For 2012, the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, known internationally for their unique brand of conductorless playing, joins the festival for an intensive workshop exploring conductorless playing.

During weeks two through four, the National Festival Orchestra will work with a different conductor each week. Throughout the week, guest coaches from the country's top orchestras will lead sectionals and present masterclasses.
