There are three practice spaces that are accessible by percussion majors only. Weekly studio classes are specifically designed for students to maximize their time here at UMD, interacting with the other faculty members in addition to their private lesson instructor. In addition, we periodically bring in local, national and international percussion performers and educators to put on masterclasses and clinics and further enhance the students' UMD percussion experience.

Wind & Percussion Division

The Wind & Percussion Division encompasses woodwinds, brass and percussion, and is one of the largest divisions of the UMD School of Music.

The W & P Division offers undergraduate and graduate study culminating in the BA, BM, MM, and DMA degrees in performance. The division is also home to the School's Jazz Studies program, which offers BA and MM degrees in jazz.

The UMD School of Music comprises seven academic and performance divisions, which oversee curriculum, ensembles, and special programs within their designated areas.
