He rehearsed Brahms' Symphony No. 3, which the orchestra was preparing for a concert. Eschenbach is the Music Director of the National Symphony Orchestra in nearby Washington, D.C. The next day he conducted a double rehearsal of Messiaen's Turangalila Symphony with the NSO. The Maestro is quite generous with his time and energy!
