The UMD Wind Ensemble (UMWE) has been invited to perform as one of the featured ensembles at the College Band Directors National Association (CBDNA) Eastern Division Conference to be held at Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore on Saturday, February 19. This marks the regional gathering of esteemed collegiate bands from across the east coast. Quite the honor, this is the first time this UMD ensemble has been invited to perform at a CBDNA conference. Experience a special preview of UMWE’s performance at The Clarice! The concert will feature tuba faculty member Willie Clark as soloist on Bruce Broughton's Tuba Concerto and also includes works by Gustav Holst, Stacy Garrop, Katahj Copley and Daniel Montoya, Jr.

About the UMD Wind Ensemble (UMWE):

Under the direction of Andrea Brown, UMWE performs works from the most respected repertoire written for wind band and chamber ensembles with a focus on highlighting composers from underrepresented populations.
