Student Degree Recital: Jeannette-Marie Lewis D.M.A. Flute

College of Arts and Humanities | School of Music | The Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center Saturday, February 12, 2022 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm The Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center, Gildenhorn Recital Hall

Join us in-person at The Clarice or watch the livestream from the comfort of your home.

From screaming solos in Jethro Tull to comedic effect on Saturday Night Live, the flute has demonstrated a powerful presence in pop culture. The flute seamlessly shifts through musical genres like rock, hiphop, and EDM, illustrating endless technical and sonic capabilities. Its appearances in movies, TV, and media have proven that this instrument is here to stay. This lecture will explore noteworthy flute moments along the pop culture timeline to answer the question, "why add flute to that?"

Health + Safety

All patrons 12 years of age and older are required to provide proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test result from a test taken within 48 hours of the performance for entry into the venue (home tests will NOT be accepted).

Masks must be worn at all times. Please see our Health + Safety page for more information.
