Jeannette-Marie Lewis, flute: Debussy's Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun

To fulfill partial requirements of her graduate program, School of Music Doctor of Musical Arts student Jeannette-Marie Lewis performs Claude Debussy's Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun for 5 flutes (arranged by Gudrun Hinze). Lewis is a student of Sarah Frisof.

Jeannette-Marie Lewis is a flutist and educator from Long Island, New York. Currently pursuing her DMA in Flute Performance from the University of Maryland School of Music, Lewis is exploring her passion for classical, jazz and contemporary flute pedagogy. At UMD, she serves as the Artist Partner Program Graduate Assistant, working primarily with the Visiting Artist Series and National Orchestral Institute + Festival. She completed an MM in Flute Performance from the Ithaca College School of Music, where she also holds a BM in Music Education. There, she served as a Graduate Assistant of Flute, Graduate Assistant of Vocal-General Student Teaching, Graduate Assistant to the Manager of Concerts and Facilities and Stage Crew Manager. Lewis has won core positions with the Catskill Symphony Orchestra and US Air Force Academy Band. She also holds substitute positions with the Cayuga Chamber Orchestra and York Symphony Orchestra. She spends summers teaching woodwinds, voice and piano at her family music store, Lewis Music.
