Jason Max Ferdinand (D.M.A. Choral Conducting ‘15) Earns Top Prize at International Music Festival

Ferdinand and his choir, the Oakwood University Aeolians, earned the top title at the Choir of the World competition at the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod.

 

Jason Max Ferdinand (D.M.A. Choral Conducting ‘15) and his choir, the Oakwood University Aeolians, won the Choir of the World competition at the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod, an international cultural festival that took place in Wales from July 3 to July 9. Ferdinand, who has directed the Aeolians since 2008, was also named Outstanding Director of the World Choral Festival.

The Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod welcomes over 4,000 performers and as many as 50,000 visitors to Llangollen, Wales each summer to sing and dance in a unique combination of competition, performance and international peace and friendship. The festival culminates with the Choir of the World event, which is one of the world’s most prestigious international choral competitions.
