Giorgia Cavallaro is one of Washington D.C.'s leading guitarists. Performances include the Phillips Gallery, the Corcoran Gallery, numerous embassies and colleges, the Kennedy Center, the Barns at Wolf Trap, the State Department the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center at Maryland and worldwide auditoriums including a command performance for President Christiani of El Salvador. Ms. Cavallaro is a winner of the Montpelier Soloist Award and as an International Competition winner, earned study and performance in Santiago de Compostela, Spain.

Cavallaro's most recent performance at the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center included Benjamin Britten's Songs from the Chinese, and Domenico Argento's Letters from Composers for voice and guitar. As an orchestra member with the Maryland Opera Company, Ms. Cavallaro also performed Argento's contemporary opera Postcard from Morocco. She has worked with the McLean Youth Symphony the Capitol Composers Alliance of Washington D.C., and the National Chamber Singers of Harrisburg.

As a recording artist, Ms. Cavallaro, guitarist and co-founder of the group Flutar, recorded Dream's of Suchitlan with flutist Joseph Cunliffe, a CD inspired by tour work to El Salvador in 1991. They have since been invited back to that country several times, most recently in 1998 with the United States Information Service and were awarded the titles of Artistic Ambassador for outstanding artistic contribution. In January 2002, Ms. Cavallaro performed concerts in North Queensland, Australia. As a composer, Ms. Cavallaro's works are featured on Flutar's most recent recording Journey'sCrossing where original music is meant to illustrate the plight of endangered animals and bring a message of awareness through music for conservation and preservation. These works have been featured on National Public Radio.

Giorgia Cavallaro has served as Guitar Chair for American String Teachers Association MD/DC chapter, as coordinator of guitar events and activities, and has contributed articles for their magazine Stringendo. She has adjudicated for the National Finals of the 2001 Student Competition and for the Panasonic Young Soloist Award. She is on the faculty at both the University of Maryland School of Music and at Catholic University where she directs their programs in guitar.
