FAME Music Technology Workshop
Monday through Friday, from 9:00am - 4:00pm
July 8 - 12, 2019 (7th - 9th grade students)
July 15 - 19, 2019 (10th - 12th grade students)
In a small class size of 17, rising 7th thru 12th grade students become immersed in a comprehensive, modern, technology-rich, creativity-based learning environment, which is not typically accessible during the regular school year. The training transcends beyond occupations, helping youth gain skills for advanced placement in schools and employment in technology, as well as inspiring them to achieve. Each workshop culminates with a showcase of the students' creative projects.

Music Technology Participants will:

  • Explore cutting-edge recording software
  • Experiment with music composition
  • Learn about music production
  • Produce finished MP3 files to share digitally and publish online
  • Learn about and prepare for education and career opportunities in music
  • Meet and collaborate with new music friends
  • Receive a one-year subscription to MusicFirst Software
  • And more!


Vocal Music Workshop
Monday through Friday, from 9:00am - 4:00pm
July 8 - 12, 2019 (7th - 9th grade students)
July 15 - 19, 2019 (10th - 12th grade students)
In this new workshop, rising 7th - 12th grade students will learn how to be intentional in their interpretation of lyrics and musical phrasing, creating a polished/refined performance product in the process. Students will improve their execution of performance repertoire in the areas of classical arias/Italian art songs, jazz standards, pop, and theatre. Each workshop culminates in a live performance open to the public.

Vocal Music Participants will:

  • Learn many vocal techniques
  • Strengthen and build vocal capacity
  • Perform sight-reading/sight-singing exercises
  • Collaborate with program participants to create an archival recording of an original composition
  • Learn to be intentional in their interpretation of lyrics and musical phrasing
  • Improve their execution of performance repertoire in the areas of classical arias/Italian art songs, jazz standards, pop, and theatre
  • And more!
