Gailyn is a graduate of the University of Maryland in 1961 with a B.A. in speech. She has been involved in music, arts management, and arts broadcasting for many years. She is a charter member of Oaklands Presbyterian Church in Laurel, Maryland, and has been the Director of Music since 1966. She has sung with The Washington Chorus since 1972 and is a singing member of the Outreach Singers of TWC and a founding board member and singer with The New York City Master Chorale. She also conducts the Collington Singers at Collington Lifecare Retirement Community. She is the arts reporter for CTV Channel 76 with weekly news reports and also with a monthly program called “Arts About the County.” Gailyn has been executive director of the Prince George’s County Media and Film Office and the manager and president of the Board of the Prince George’s Philharmonic. She is also involved in managing individual artists, and she was the special events coordinator for the National Symphony Orchestra. Gailyn joined the Board of Visitors in 2012.
