The Assistant facilitates the day-to-day operation of the office of the Director of the School of Music. He/she manages and maintains the director’s schedule -handling routine phone calls, travel arrangements, procedural and substantive matters and inquiries, in addition to organizing meetings, preparing correspondence and drafting reports. This position also assists the Associate Director for Administration – managing the faculty promotions and faculty/staff hiring processes.
School of Music and Clarice Artist Partner Program launch Opera Composition Contest - Deadline July 1
As part of an ongoing dedication to cultivating and performing new work, the Maryland Opera Studio (MOS) and the Artist Partner Program of The Clarice at the University of Maryland announce the first annual Opera Composition Contest for a new work reading to be performed by the singers of the MOS.
We believe that the best music educators are exemplary musicians who think critically about music teaching and learning. We aim to prepare reflective music educators and comprehensive musicians for leadership positions in diverse educational communities. We seek to honor those music educators who exemplify our program values through pedagogy, inquiry, musicianship, and scholarship.
